Air Bags on a 1st gen explorer 4dr
Air Bags on a 1st gen explorer 4dr
i was thinking about swapping my 4x4 explorer to a 2wd, and put air bags on it with 18" bullit wheels, how do you think that would look, how complex are air bags to install? how much does it normally cost shops to install air bags?
or
would it look better lowered 3-4" and 18" bullit wheels?
reason for the change is im sick of breaking tons of **** wheelin and the bigger tires just killed my front end
thanks

it could be done... you'd have to get a new transmission, or just lower it with the transfer case still in there. that would probably present all kinds of problems if you're wanting to lay frame/body. I say do a static drop with rims and keep your 4x4 since you live in PA and it'd be good for the snow.
yea i want to keep the tranny and tcase for a while, until my stock tranny gives out, then im goin with a manual 5 speed swap, but im first lowering it 3"/3" and then later on bags! lol, can anyone give me a estimate of what it should cost to install airbags, and the parts?
i think you should go the extra mile and and bag it as a 4x4. yeah iut will be a lot more work. but it will also stand out that much more. i am wanting to body drop a 4x4 in the future, or at least atempt to. so i say go for it
