Another dome light?

Has anyone ever thought of putting another dome light near the back wall?

This would really only apply to supercab guys, but the reason I thought of this, my dome light doesn't really shine on the rear floor very well.

If you had another dome in the back, that would help a lot.

I figured the headliner would be strong enough to hold this style of domelight by itself

Just throwing it out there.

I think it's a good idea, but only in function. It probably won't look very good aesthetically.

I could just splice the wire at the stock dome light and run a wire back there, then ground it at the third brake light

no i get that... im just thinking about a hard mount.... the screw mounts act as the ground and the mount. you may be able to go get them off a ranger at a yard and maybe appoxy them in.

True, I'll have to hammer out the details. Maybe If I can find one at a junkyard I can mock one into place and decide if I even want to go through with it

I have a small dome light from the rear hatch area of an Explorer that might work...

It's held onto the headliner with a couple metal clips, no screws. All you need to do is cut a rectangular hole for the light & wire it in.

How about a light on the back wall rather than 2 on the roof

If you want some light on the floor in the back of the cab you might think about putting a strip of superflux LEDs under the seat/seats, wired to come on with the dome. IMO that would look nicer.

That's a good idea, and it would be hidden too

If anyone does this I would like to see pics. My friend is getting a silverado which he wants to do a lot with, I'll talk him into doing this.

I think LEDs with a WIDE pattern on them would work wonders for this.
