to the GTFO guy... i hear ya but thats not always the case...

if you want past me that bad.. then drive that thing like you knew how to steal it and use the left lane and pass me.. then you can go as fast as you want..

By this standard, if someone runs into you (say runs a red or side-swipes you) it's your fault for being there . . . ?

Interesting concept

well i have to admit I've been one of those ****** on the hwy flashin lights at people in the left lane doin the speed limit or under and this thread made me realize i need to chill out!! it just aggravtes the hell out of me when people see you rollin up and they got 3-4 other lanes to move over in and just figure cause they're doin the speed limit they can ride the fast lane. but i digress and will chill out and move around them if i can and back off a lil and be more patient!!

good.

I can't stand drivers who fly all over the highway when there are more than 2 lanes.

ok my honest opinion, 1 lane road, respect the person in front of you if he's under the speedlimit, i don't mind a polite reminder, not riding *** but you know, 2 lane, drive in the right lane, left lane to pass (as is the law in most states i believe) 3 lane, if you are doing the speed limit, middle lane, under, right lane, over, left lane, if you are in the left lane and someone comes up behind you, move to the middle lane BEFORE they have a chance to tail gate you

if you are driving in the left lane and going slower than i want to, i will let you know i think you should move out of the way by driving close, not so close as to if they were to brake check i would have any chance of hitting them... i have also been known to flash my hi beams at people for not moving over when they can, last resort i will use the slower lane to go around someone...

it's not that hard to watch someone in your rear view mirror and move when they get close... that way it never gets to the point of needing an anti tailgate device... that being said, if i'm behind someone, waiting for them to move over and some ******* pulls up on my ***... i will do the above mentioned things...

in canada there is a charge in the motor vehicle act of british columbia (and similar charges in other provinces) of impeding traffic, which can constitute doing the speed limit when the flow of traffic is noticeably faster.

in conclusion, if someone is riding your ***, by all means **** em off, if they are close to give you a polite request to make way for someone who is in a hurry, how does that hurt you? move over let them by... if you are riding someone's ***, expect a trailer hitch in the windsheild...

honestly, i've got nothing but the utmost respect for law enforcement officers, but if i got pulled over for that, "sorry sir, i thought i saw a rabbit run out in front of me, but i realize now it must have just been a plastic bag"

no officer should be that close to your *** where they have to worry about hitting you if you do that...

x2 they could crash and it would be your fault

i drop the gear too since 3rd can run up to 50 quickly from 35 it works out great

of course you could always go with a sticker like 'WARNING: the closer you get the slower I'll go' or 'if your gonna be this close up my a** at least pull the hairs'

Common sense should prevail:

Keep right except to pass.

Everyone has their own comfort level when it comes to speed, but on the roads it should be at least close to the limit, conditions (e.g. weather) permitting.

Someone flashing lights at you isn't necessarily trying to bug you - look at it as if they're just letting you know they're there. Same thing goes for the horn - I double tap when I use my horn - just to let people I'm there - a lot less aggressive sounding.

Tailgating is stupid - if they (or you) can't pass, you're not going to be going any quicker than the car ahead; you'll be travelling the same speed whether you're fifteen feet or fifteen inches from the car ahead.

And for drivers who end up with a lineup behind them because they're impeding traffic - pull over and let them pass (if you can do so safely) - it's a lot less stressful for everyone.

Finally - if someone behind you is in that much of a hurry, they may be in an emergency situation and need to pass you.

I agree on the last part!! yrs ago my now ex-wife (lol) called from hm and said she had just called for an ambulance because she wasn't feelin well. So i was tryin to get home as quickly and safely as possible. Then i had a saturn redline (SC'd) and came up on this 4runner goin alot slower than posted limit on 2 lane rd (I had emergency flashers on), wasn't ridin him too bad just tryin to get the opp. to pass, well he started the tap brakes thing and turned his flashers on, so i hit hit my police strobes i had and he quickly moved over...then 2 miles up the road got hit by county mounty for doin 85 in a 35..(11pm) lol (back country rd)....i was let go.

If I got **** sprayed on my truck I would throw whatever I have in my cab at their ride! I had someone throw something out their window at me one time cause I was riding their *** for going 10 mph under the speed limit. Lets just say when I passed them they got a FULL 44 OZ coke on their windshield! lol
