Anyone ever use this?

I made one of these for my VW (Model before they came out with these as OEM) and I loved having it.
Is it possible to program one of these to my 02 edge? I know my key has the chip in it, but apparantly, so do these.
And I know that they don't provide key blanks for ford, but I'm not worry about that. I know how to put new keys onto the remote.

It might be best to go with a more american, it seems like they are for european cars. Try this link, Bulldog is a good name. Also unless you know a lot about electric wiring you might want to have someone do it for you because if you hook it up wrong it can mess up the computer, and it might not start period.

I don't know anything about that product but here's a different idea:
Ford has made several versions of PATS for different years/models. 2001~2004 Rangers use "Type E" PATS.
The guys on Explorer Forums have been using the Fusion factory key/remote in their 3rd generation 4-door Explorers, also Type E. Assuming that you already have power locks/remote keyless entry, you should be able to do the same on your Ranger as long as you already have 2 existing PATS keys to work from. No guarantee though because I haven't actually tried it.
Buying and cutting the Fusion key/remote should cost about $60 or so from a dealer, maybe a little less on eBay. Program the PATS and remote functions yourself for free.
Take a look at this thread:

The PATS function is a different story. For security reasons, it requires possession of 2 working PATS keys before a 3rd can be recognized.

to program a Remote or Keypad, you dont need any

The combination Fusion key shown above has two functions - PATS and Remote Keyless Entry. You can easliy program the CSM to accept the key as an RKE fob without needing anything else - just like your wireless keypad.

To the best of my knowledge, no one has tried it yet on a Ranger but it should work on 2001~2004. If you have 2 working PATS keys, you can do the programming yourself after getting it cut to match your lock. If you have only 1 PATS key, you would have to go to a dealer or a locksmith.

I'd like to know about this too. My lil' bro's got a Golf with the switchblade and it'd be awesome to have one for the Ranger, PLUS I know most of you have been stabbed in the thigh by your own key while it's in your pocket, this would fix that. I just think it's cool. I think I may buy one just to test it out.

Well, I finally got the stupid key. It looks cool, flips out cool, I had to grind it down to the right length because it's a "mitsu" key (they didn't have a Ford like our keys). I went to go program the controls to it (8 times on off yada yada)......nothin'. I fixing to take apart one of my old fob's and see if I can "tinker" with it and get the new one working. Bob, do you know if I can just take something off of my old chip and put it on the new chip (maybe a transmitter) and it work? I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to circuit boards and whatnot.
