Broke leaf... got an idea!
Broke leaf... got an idea!
Ok, I just noticed my middle leaf in my drivers side pack is broke. I also know that there is a 2.5 inch block under the leafs.
My thought was... instead of buying 2 new stock leaf packs... buy 2 new LIFT leaf packs. Only 2 or 3 inches of lift, but instead of putting the blocks back in, take them out and put the leaf on the axle. This should make my truck ride at stock hight, reduce axle wrap, and possibly flex better. Am I nuts?
Any opinions or questions are welcome. Thanks!

go to a junk yard and get explore leafs then you will be able to get rid of your block and be at stock height because they are under the axle on the explore and when you put it on top it will work out even. thats what i was guna do to lift my truck but i was guna keep my blocks.
na, but its broke right behind the block, it can "swing". I have it contained with some wire at the moment so it don't take out my tire lol
But has anyone done this or think it would work/ not work?

I second Downey's idea.
Skyjacker lift leaves some in 4 or 6" lift, assuming you use the stock block, so ditch the block and get 4" lift leave and you will have a little more rake. Also, don't be alarmed if the wheel seems to be shifted forward within the wheel well.
