cheapest most effective mods? new here

im just wondering what some of the most effective/cheapest mods are for my 2000 xlt 3.0 flex

Masteratarms93 12-27-2010 12:24 PM

effective for what? what effect are you trying to create?

mightytruck95 12-27-2010 12:26 PM

all around performance (power,mpg)

Masteratarms93 12-27-2010 12:40 PM

umm with the 3.0 I hear that Screamin Demon coil packs, a tune up, and a K&N filter with the airbox mod do wonders

mightytruck95 12-27-2010 12:42 PM

does a seafoam treatment really help?

yes it does but you have to change the plugs and oil after if you put it in the crankcase
and for power that coil pack and k&n drop in
and a underdog crank pulley

mightytruck95 12-27-2010 12:51 PM

by drop in do you mean the k&n stock replacement performance filter? and where can i find that pulley?

Stuff For Your Ranger
you just need the crank pulley for power and the belt

mightytruck95 12-27-2010 01:06 PM

alright thanks

eernger 12-27-2010 01:39 PM

are you an auto or a manual? after doing a tune up, maybe pinch your pennies for a tuner for your tuck? i have seen very good things written about RoguePerformance and the work they have done for the 3.0L. They also had kind of an interesting article on their website:

Vulcan Potential

mightytruck95 12-27-2010 01:43 PM

i got an auto. im kindof leary of the tuner, and drastic changes, due to pretty loud lifter noise. its been doing it forever, and after lucas oil stabilizer and an oil change its a little better.

eernger 12-27-2010 01:52 PM

ooohhh...fair game! ya, i dont blame ya! in that case, probably a good move sticking to the more simple mods then.

mightytruck95 12-27-2010 01:53 PM

im also looking into a 4.0 swap.

mightytruck95 12-27-2010 01:59 PM

do throttle body spacers work? i can make one with on a cnc machine, so its free.

If your thinking about doing a 4.0 swap, just go with a 6.7 cummins. the 4.0's are garbage,

Edit: on second thought. just get rid your truck altogether. these rangers are absolute pieces of ****..

sniper_101 01-03-2011 06:49 AM

E-fan, Underdrive pullies, X-cal, proper tire pressures, good fluids and a clean air filter will all help with mileage and help with "power".

The 4.0 OHV and SOHC last longer than the 6.7 Cumaparts . . .

hahaha your funny. not only would the cummins blow the 4.0 out of the water but that's not even close to an even comparison. Now compare a cummins to a powerjoke and everyone and there brother knows that the cummins would win hands down

RLong31 01-03-2011 04:02 PM

If your ranger is such a piece of **** and you have a big cummins dick up your butt, go buy a dodge and gtfo of this guy's thread... or post something useful, dumbass.

RLong31 01-03-2011 04:14 PM

Here is a good place to start to learn a little about your truck and possible mods.

well considering i am 17 years old i can not just "go and buy" whatever i want. i had no choice other than my ranger as my first vehicle. So why don't get off the computer and maybe go outside, get some exercise and stop posting pointless bull**** on the internet you redneck piece of ****

<TX>TORKiT 01-03-2011 05:50 PM

For the ultimate MPG mod you need to lower the truck 4/5'' with a tonneau bed cover. Moon eye wheel covers also help. Less wind drag wins every time..

17 years old. Haha, that explains why you are so immature. And I actually posted a useful link for the OP to find some good information, where you posted none and acted like the child that you are. Grow up. Arguing on the internet is like competing in the special olympics, even if you win, you're still retarded.

OP, sorry for the immature child polluting your thread. Use the link I provided, read up on those easy mods you can do for cheap, and then search and read some more. Lots of good information to be found on here.

It is not a matter of immaturity, its more that i don't take this site (or anything on the internet) seriously. I don't know how old you are but judging by your douchebag photo you look like your maybe 20ish and i GUARANTEE i am way more mature at 17 then you will ever be in your entire lifetime. So go ahead and waste your life away sitting in front of your computer taking about trucks, you stupid mother****er
