Coil Lift Help?
Im putting in 2.5 inch coils and 2 inch coil spacers in the 2008 ranger single cab. i was wandering, am i going to need to replace the upper control arm? cause if can just leave it that be way easier. Also, i'll probably be putting in 1 inch shackles if that makes a difference. I don't know really lot but im just starting out so anything would help

im am assuming that your truck is 2wd? if so i would replace the upper control arm. if you increase the spring distance (length) it will cause the upper control arm to pitch down. causing your tire to lean in ( known as negative camber) witch will eat up tires and cause steering issues. i would use a upper contol arm off of a 4x4 explorer or ranger. they are longer and beefier than the 2wd style.. hope this helps

I would just pull some spindles and upper control arms off of a 4x4 ranger from 05-09. the wheel bolt patterns are the same. you could get one out of a u-pull it junk yard. Not sure the prices where your at but here in Mississippi I can get a spindle and upper control arm for both side for less than $100.
