duelly ranger

heres a idea i think it would be awsome
a duelly ranger with the fiber glass flares for the bed 5 lights on top the cab(like u see on duellys) and wide come trailer mirrors theres a company that makes kits i found the flares for the older rangers but not the new here is the site

Doing that to a Ranger would be the equivalent to putting a big wing spoiler on the back of a front wheel drive single gear tricycle.

I have seen a few older ranger and s-10 that were converted to duellies and had cargo boxes instead of regular beds. It different but I dont know if I would do that to my truck

jtslmn720 02-11-2006 02:47 PM

worthelss because rangers dont have enough power to acutally need dual wheels to support a load....

Alon 02-11-2006 02:48 PM

i was kinda thinking it would be cool to get an older ranger, reinforce the frame, make it a dually and put a diesel in there with stacks

Redneckstone 02-11-2006 03:05 PM

they acully had a deisel dually back in the 80's neet truck and there is one around town its like a 89 ranger lifted 9" with dually and 36's i think. its pretty deferent for sure

Roach2004 02-11-2006 03:08 PM

ghey

blue_bandit 02-11-2006 04:11 PM

ok well scrap that idea

Roach2004 02-11-2006 04:16 PM

100% Ghey! Thats the first time I have seen that!

034x4 02-11-2006 05:36 PM

There was An exact replica of this thread a few months ago. It was discussed. The ranger does not have enough power to need the dually axle. Hell 1/2 ton trucks don't even have a dually option!

Do you have the money to actually do something like that?

034x4 02-11-2006 06:06 PM

To make use of the power/towing capacity you would have to extend the wheelbase at 3 -4 feet to be able to haul the kind of trailers that would hold that much weight with any kind of stability.

Roach2004 02-11-2006 06:28 PM

Evan (HighRollerII) Thinks its cool idea! Way to be diffrent!

eDg3 oF cHa0s 02-11-2006 08:17 PM

Could be all right if you put a bigger engine in and beef up the suspension...

meemooer 02-11-2006 10:27 PM

what if the dually idea was for mud bogging?

034x4 02-12-2006 07:13 AM

Theres no point. With a dually axle with big tires, the tires have to be skinny (10-11" wide MAX). And if you get 40+" tires they come as wide as 18"+. It would be a waste of money (2 extra tires and wheels) for not a whole lot more tire. Also the skinny tires have alot smaller tread lugs.

I may have seen one of those at a junk yard a little while ago, my friend has pics of it on his camera, I need to get em...

SanityAside 02-12-2006 05:38 PM

i have an old thread kinda like this, i thought itd be cool to see a newer ranger dually. but if they actually started making duall rangers, ghey....

TrailRateThisFx4 02-12-2006 05:42 PM

i seen it done on a ranger where the guy put the fenders from the bed of a flair side and put them on a regular bed ....looked really cool...but he had just 18" wide wheels in the back and not dual.

yes i have actually seen one to, looked stupid as hell. had dual wheels in the back and the big fender flares (or what ever they are). it just looked dumb. i think the guy wasted more money than anything

was surfing ebay when i came across a badass one!

The Great Scaper 02-12-2006 09:53 PM

I thought about doing this to an older ranger and putting a really small dump box on it and reinforcing the fram and suspension. I have a landscaping & maintenance business, so I am always thinking of different things to do. --BOB-- I have also seen this done to older tacomas and datsuns.

MrRngr94 02-13-2006 06:01 AM

I've been wanting to do this for years.

fletch12518 02-13-2006 06:28 AM

There is a old like 88 ranger duelly that drives around where i live. Its different but i would never do it.
