You do realize that you can use red for your turnsignals right? If so and you want to switch them to red then the answer is yes. I don't have them in amber. PM me if you want a pair.

Yes, I can get you 6. But, you will need to do the mod a lil bit different in a Mustang compared to a ranger. You have to modify your stock sockets, or buy some at the auto store and modify those. (Actually it is better this way because you can reverse the mod on demand)

I did this exactly this way for my bosses Corvette Z06 that the wanted my tail lights when he saw them at the shop.

If you know how to solder and use basic tools its not that hard. You will need some JB weld for the sockets, or some epoxy. PM me if you want them.

I thought you meant red in the rear, its illegal in the front. In the back you can have amber or red signals in the states. Amber only in Japan. All running lights have to be red.

I don't have clear tails, I have (red) Evo-look-alike tails on my truck. Here is how they look with the L1224R's, supa-dupa bright.

I can solder and use basic tools lol...so I don't need to modify my housing in any way correct? Just the bulb socket which I will canibalize from a cheap bulb from Advance?

Also...will I have to change my 'blinker' fuse or anything like that? PM me some pricing info as well.

Yes, your stock tail lights will be in tact completely, if you want to revert back to stock you will need to just resolder the stock harnesses back on. I use heat shrink on every wire I cut.

You most likely will need to buy resistors to put in parallel to pull more current due to the fact that your S197 has current-metering circuitry that controls it, not a ranger-style blinker (better actually) - My Evo has the same shortcoming. I run resistors on the car, and a flasher on the truck (better) - No biggy.

As long as he has red and amber bulbs he should be fine.
Needs to have atleast a red reflector to be legal. If they are all clear like that but have the prper colour bulbs, they are still illegal until they have a red reflector in them.

I went through all that BS with my B2200 as I had all clear tail lights like that on it. Got hassled all the time and nearly had my truck taken off the road.

I personally love the look of the old skool all clear tails, but then, I love old skool stuff.

theres a difference between what the vehicle code states and what bull**** CHP will come up with when they pull you over

yes and they are DOT approved because they have red reflectors in the bumper.

You need a red reflector in the rear, it does not need to be on the tail light itself. I could find too many vehicles that have them somewhere else than the tail lights themselves.

Look closely next time you see one, and you'll notice they have red reflectors in the bumper or on the hatch/tailgate.

The aftermarket all clear tails are legal if you have some sort of red reflective warning on the back of your vehicle. You'd be able to use that red and white tape they have on transport truck trailers.
