I have a '08 extended cab Sport. I really don't like the look of the fender flaires with the fake allen head bolts around the edge. How much of the job would it be to remove them? I assume the body is painted underneath. Has anyone done this?

Theres holes behind the flares, it won't look good.

 

Would the smooth flairs from an earlier model fit?

 

Yep they should. Too bad your not close, I'd trade my Edge flares in a instant for yours.

 

no they will not.. the holes on the 06+ are higher up on the fenders then 93-05 flares...

already looking into this on my truck, 93-05 you can put 06+ but 06+ putting the older you will need to do some filling work

 

Oh figured Ford would have kept it the same like the did most everything else.

 

nope... i went to the dealer one night and found a 08 and pulled the flares back to check..

needed to know before i order them
