OK I've looked high and I've looked low.

WTF is this Flowmaster 40 Series everyone is talking about and where did you buy this Mythical GOLD PLATED Exhaust System that is so hard to find????

I had a Gibson on my Bronco and I thought it was really nice for $300.

Has anybody ever heard of Ravin? I put that on my 96 4.0 and i love it. It is toned down compared to a lot of the other loud ones but it sounds great. It has enough flow sound but does not sound ricey at all. So if you want something thats not so loud go with that!

Im trying to still find a si/do Borla muffler for my truck since my stocker exaust reminds me of a geo exhaust, and also it's rust-tastic.

I have a gibson SI/SO on my 4.0L and i wouldn't change it. It's not ricey and gives it a great deep sound throughout the RPMs. Once I get above 50 or so there isn't that obnoxious exaust that we have all driven behind and wish they would go away. I would say Gibson is the way to go.

I know this is an old thread, But it's better than starting another exhaust thread. LOL

I was thinking about getting the Gibson Extreme Dual Exhaust. I scored some at an awsome price. I was wondering if anyone has had experiance with this kit????

That's the same kit my fellow ranger enthusiast put on his 98. Sounds decent but I like flowmaster more for the rumble. He did gain some mid-range though from the butt-dyno.

He used about 2 hours of shop time to put it on. Most of the time he said was taking the old off. I wasn't there to watch though. But he said it bolts right up.

Before he did the gibson he had a straight pipe after the last cat... That sounded awesome...

Only reason I was thinking about this kit, besides the awsome price I get, is because The local Police just love to give out noise pollution tickets. They actually have a program funded by the state called operation safe strip.......LOL. It's to try and quiet down streets, between loud radios and exhausts, It's mostly *cough* Harleys *cough*, Alot of guys punch out the stock pipes and drive them like that. So now they wreck it for everyone.

So I don't want anything really too loud, I want to be safe.

Is that the magnaflow kit, or a magnaflow muffler that you bought and had an exhaust made up??

I have a muffler, But everyone around here wants $375-$500 to put duals on using MY muffler.

Might be too late for this, but BORLA! BORLA BORLA BORLA! You will NOT be disappointed!

I've had lots of people ask me how I fit an 8 cylinder into my little Ranger before, and I just tell them it's a 6! The Borla Pro XS is by far the best sounding muffler for the 4.0 SOHC hands down!
