how do i wire up fogs?

how do i wire up fogs?

im sure its been done but im changing my 98 xlt 2wd lower valance to a 4x4 valance to add fog lights...how do i wire up the lights...or can i just splice them in to my parking lights?

Probably would be easiest to splice into the Parking Lights with a relay if you don't have the factory wiring and switch.

splice into the parking lights and the headlight switch will fry...ask me how i know...use a relay

Alright lol well how do I install a relay..and justin what are the steps you did to install the fogs....I'm not to electricaly inclined...I can do it its just not my stong point

Similar to this ^

Not hard at all. Basically you wire the 87/30 to the Fog and Battery wiring respectively. The 86/85 is the Ground and Power source, the can be wired in that order or reversed (doesn't matter). The Power source in this case would be the Parking Lamps, so just splice into them. And you are done.

So lemme try to clear a couple things up....I need to get a relay and run wires to my parking lamps....where can I get a relay at....I feel really dumb right about now lol

Yes a Relay, some Wiring at least equivalent to stock, and maybe some Wire Splicers to make splicing easier. You can pick those up at any auto parts store.

If your gonna use a factory foglight switch that goes in the radio bezel, it uses a ground signal to trigger the relay to turn the lights on. Trust me, I know. lo

If you search, I have a thread taking about all of this since I did it on my '99.
