modded "rock guards"

hey guys did this last week, at 1st I had moved up the flaps but IMO they still looked funny there... so I busted out the dremel did some line marking and moved them up more to look like something you'd find on a newer model truck these days, the reason for keeping them is b/c they do help with rock chips, and looking at it, with them modded this way they will still protect my fenders from rocks flying off, and I can keep the brackets to reinforce the rear fenderwells...

looks good. but i prefer the throwing rocks against my body, misting people like crazy down the freeway and highway, and making my truck filthy within' a day after washing it. lol.

just adding more options to those folks who want to keep the flaps, give them another idea...

Looks a hell of a lot better than with them hanging down like meat curtains.

Word.

Plus my tires stick out so there is not gay mudflaps going back on...

I like big mudflaps. They protect your paint. I bought autozone "ford" ones for both the front and the back.

Looks okay I guess. lol I take pride in my rock chips. Cosmetic damage like that really doesn't bother me.

Ditching the gayflaps was the first mod on my truck.

Am I the only one who couldn't care less if a truck has mud flaps or not? It is probably the last thing I notice about a truck

I like it! I still prefer my Line-X rocker panels though, THAT is the best protection.

Those look alot better.

Having a Mazda, I have those retarded molded solid plastic ones. They like to break as soon as you back into anything or drive over anything. Needless to say, mine found a home somewhere in a pile of junk in my shed.

Like Shane, I enjoy snowy rooster tails, covering my truck in slush and mud, misting people on the highway and slinging rocks at tailgaters.

took my flaps off, put my truck into a ditch by accident when i first got it, knocked the plastic pin out so everytime i go down the road the wind causes the flap to knock my fender flair outa place
