mounting mountain bike on tonneau cover?
mounting mountain bike on tonneau cover?
Hey guys, im trying to fab up my own mountain bike rack to put on top of my tonneau cover. I want something that would mount the front fork (so i would be traveling with the front tire off), and a mount that would hold the rear wheel somehow.
I'm thinking about drilling holes in my tonneau cover and putting fork mounts up front, but im still unsure about what to for the back wheels.
I think i saw someone with mountain bike racks on their tonneau cover before, but i cant find it.
Let me know your ideas/suggestions and if you have seen a mount like this before. Pics would be awesome. Thanks guys

ya i knew i remembered one. It was a while ago if I remember correctly. But i cant remember the name either
same idea as a regular rack, where the rear wheel is held in place with a quick ratchet strap. just means more holes in your tonneau cover (which sucks). i just throw my bike in the bed and leave the front hanging over the tailgate with a blanket underneath. done and bobs your uncle.

i had a few variations on it too. i replaced the back bolts with quick release 'quik fists' so that i could take the back bar out to use my bed more easily and the front bolts got replaced with eye bolts so that the tie downs had somewhere to hook into.
i still miss it, moved my stuff back to my house at school the other day and wanted to bring my bike but that wasnt going to happen with how full my bed was
