Have recently came across a 5.9l v8 chrysler engine was wondering if their was any way to put that in my 85 2wd ranger.

 

possible, but expensive, and plenty of moding. Just find a carb 302 or 351, would be cool to see that though.

 

the 5.9 that was found in select grand cherokees, durangos, and the 5.9 dakotas?

cuz my friend has a grand cherokee with that motor, and it scoots. 0-60 in around 7 seconds. i could imagine how it would be in a light 2wd ranger :O

 

yea, the r/t dakotas will flat out run, and rangers are lighter than dakota's, so i'd assume it would be pretty quick

 

The engine came out of a 98 ram 1500 figured it would be hard to put it in my ranger so my dad and i are gonna drop it in his dakota

 

It will drop right in the dakota, no problem

No, he means the 5.9, they were in r/t dakota's. He said it came out of a 1500 anyway.....why would you think he meant 5.2?

They said 5.2 because he said the cherokee had the 5.9 but they were saying the cherokee had the 5.2 because the 5.9 didn't come in the 5.2 cherokee.
Confusingly clear up any confusion?

 

No, Bc there were 5.9 l Jeep Grand Cherokees. They don't seem to understand that 5.9 was offered in Jeep Grand Cherokee, Durango, Dakota r/t 1500,2500, and 3500

 

starting in i think 98 you could get the 5.9 in a jeep grand cherokee google that to

 

1998 5.9 l Limited, which was changed to the 5.7 l "HEMI"....yea right
