Now before everyone gets all excited and starts subscribing to this one left right and center, this is totally a pipe dream... for now.

I know everyone wants either a 302 or 5.4L conversion and SAS for their Rangers, but why not go bigger? What if a guy could get a 429 and SAS it with full size axles? This is all hypothetical. For the time being.

Thoughts, concerns, open flaming all welcome.

Hey retard, If u dropped 25k$ on my doorstep I'd put the most expensive **** on my truck. But guess what? I'm not a millionaire therefore I'm going to start small amd do what I can afford. I mean ****, why a 439?? Why not a jet engine. And why SAS when I can make a hovercraft? Why don't you ask zabeard how much he has invested in his truck? I'm prolly at 4K$ and probably wasted too much.

Additional flaming, nothing about this thread, includingthe content or name makes me wanna subscribe.

According To Ford The 385 Series Engine (429/460) Is Only 3/8s Wider Than A SOHC 4.6 (not counting exhaust manifold/headers), But The Modular Engine Is 4 Inches Shorter, Also The 385 Series Uses a Different (also larger) Bellhousing So You Would Most Likely Need Either a Body Lift Or Some Pretty Radical Firewall Clearancing,

Yeah, we measured it out to see if it would fit in a 300ZX (don't ask hahaha) and figured it would clear the Ranger pretty easy. In all honesty I'd rather cut out some firewall than attempt a body lift on a truck with 500000km on the body...

Yeah, she's been around the block a few times for sure.

And for the record, I have a fairly good idea of what this will cost me, but personally I would rather sink some pretty serious cash into a one of a kind rig, built the way I want it, with my own (for the most part at least) hands than go out and buy some cookie-cutter truck and slap some bolt ons on it and call it 'custom'.

HAHAH I was JUST about to say the same thing. Light the truck up for sure.

I would get a Raptor and have it D60ed and twin sticked. For my super car I want one of the new Camaro Z28s when they come out.

Go for it. It may be a dream now, and these guys might flame you, but prove them wrong and they will take their foots and shove it in their mouths.

Despite all the flaming. If it were done it would be pretty unique.

I'd rather sink my money into my other trucks that already have solid axles and manual transfer cases
