I know everyone wants either a 302 or 5.4L conversion and SAS for their Rangers, but why not go bigger? What if a guy could get a 429 and SAS it with full size axles? This is all hypothetical. For the time being.

Thoughts, concerns, open flaming all welcome.
really? answer is because (besides people like beard....lol )most of us dont have the time or money for both conversions.

i had the time to do my sas....but running one tons...i would love to, but didnt have the $$ and cuz id rather run something that my truck can turn better.

cuz if imma run full widths....imma be running 37's and up...and i want more than my 3.slow for that.

I dont know that putting a 429 and full width axles in a ranger is really even that hard? a 429 requires like no electronics, stick a C6 in there and a 205 and your done.

Putting full width axles under a ranger is almost a weekend project now.

I live in Canada. Emissions laws up here are a joke at best. And I disagree with carbs also, but a stand-alone computer and ZF-6 solves that problem.

no one said you have to keep it legal. i never once heard that. Full width axles kill the whole legal thing anyway. its just not enforced much.

True, but considering I don't have a tow vehicle at the moment, I'd like to keep it somewhat legal. But again, up here the laws are more or less a joke.

tires hang over the fender is usually a good one
the fact that it is lifted higher than the law allows is another one.

I know for up here (BC) there's a maximum allowable amount of tire you can have outside your fenders. That's easy enough to deal with. Most cops believe you when you tell them you've got the fender coming, they're just back ordered
