I am thinking of shaving the door handles and remove the key locks from my 97 stepside. I would like to have the truck open and remote start on the same key fob. has any one done this yet? I figure this is a good time as i am getting close to time for media blast and new paint.

 

If you shave your door handles you need to add poppers to open your door. If you have the right alarm you can do this easily! You would just need to put the door poppers on one of the channels on your alarm remote. I have done it on almost every car I ever owned and will tell u that you need to make sure you hide a switch (door poppers come with a button) or anything else you can use to wire directly to the popper just in case your alarm batter dies or something like that. Trust me it sucks when you cant open your door because your alarm remote battery dies!
