squeeze throttle on the shifter

I am sure some of you have seen this. We are building our 1/4 scale pulling tractor at NCSU for our competition this summer, and we are looking to do a squeeze throttle. Its basically like a bike brake mounted vertically on the shifter so you can modulate the throttle with your hand and not need three feet... do you guys have any pics or links or know anyone running this kinda thing... looking for some brainstorming ideas..

Thnx in advace

Some jeep guys use the bike shifter for the throttle so they can set an rpm and keep it there.

rules:

Must be dead man, ie: if you let off of the throttle, it must return back to idle

Ryan, believe it or not I looked online and couldn't find one haha glad you could, I was looking for 'squeeze throttle'. It looks like that is not dead man though... cause it refers to it as 'cruise control'... maybe we could modify it...?
Although for $30, we should just use a bike brake for real lol

for everyone else....here is what we are working on NCSU Pack Pullers

Mine's old bike parts, hooked to where the cruise control would go. A spring makes it return, or "dead man". Real easy to do if you hook the spring to it, might have to fab that on your own. The wingnut makes it a throttle control, I just tighten it to keep the RPMs if I ever need it.

What? Three pedals for two legs is too much for you to handle?

We have rocks up here, no need for this when in flat mudbogs...

Left/Right Brake and Clutch...add a Gas pedal on top of that=too much to handle...so this throttle control goes on the steering mechanism

My sisters boyfriend uses a bike gear shifter as cruise control. I thought he was smart for thinking of this.... looks like I have some b@lls to bust.

I feel dumb for never seeing this anywhere else.
