sub boxes for seats??

ok so, I have a 2002 extened cab ranger and I was wondering if you can take the jumper seats out and have 2 boxes on each side of the cab. but instead of just having 2 boxes, put a cushion on top of them for people to sit on. you can still use the seat belts but idk if that would be legal. would it be cool or stupid?

Stupid. People usually don't want to ride in the back of my truck anyway, let alone sit on top of a sub box. Plus they'll complain about the shaking.

My sub box is an excuse to take someone else's vehicle, I don't like having a lot of people in my truck

depends. do you normally have people ride in the back. if so and still want subs that would be the an idea. if you normally dont have have people ride then build the box as a normal person would. but if you have a 4 door cab build the box with quick disconnects so you and quickly pull it out for room. i was goin to do it to the one i was goin to build with neutrix speakon connectors.

Girls will most likley love it for obvious reasons lol... All honesty I just took those bishes out and put a 12 in the middle (now a 10). One of these days I wanna box that will house some 10's in the old jump seat space...That would be prime

Why not make the box so that the seat can still fold down if necessary? I think thats how the mtx thunderform is

what i was thinking about doing to my truck was, take the back of the jumper seat and put a sub box in there will plexy in the front to lean back on the when you dnt want people to see them you put the seat up. i havent done this yet not sure if it would work or not, but then you still have the seat and a back rest that would beat.

oh see i have the ex cab but its only a 2 door because mine is a 93 so the seats fold from the sides down if i get a chance ill post a pic but the fold form below the window and if you take the back rest off theres about a 7inch deep gap which would fit perfectly

Try and get an MTX Thunderform instead. It'll fit under the seats and isn't a big problem on leg room back there, considering there isn't any to begin with.

I have no seats in mine.. but I want to put a single seat on the passenger side and then get the other seat trim and seat from the wreckers to get the fabric off it to make it really look like a small sub box to mimic a folded seat.... factory look modding...

I would use a shallow mount sub.. and since its a small truck I wouldn't make the box huge.. just after a little bass.. I don't need the brain scrambling mega stereo I used to have... not that I still don't enjoy it.. I just don't need it as much as the truck space.
