Icon5 Tinting idea

well mhy truck has absolutely no tint on it anywhere so i was going around to the different shops to see how much they'd charge to do 20% on the back and side glass best price i got was 160 is that a good price or should i keep looking

well done with the back story the real question i had was.... well this guy had done 50% on his windsheild and said it worked really good and helped keep it cool

so would yall recomend me tinting the windsheild too or just the other three and i'd love to see some pics of peoples tint with the % just to get some ideas

so what do you think guys?

IMO anything on your windshield is retarded. Why would you want block your vision, even if it is just 50%.

I would do the everything else at 20%

I wouldnt put any tint on my windshield except the visor. I think it would be a hazard at night

ya check your state law first. and 160 for three windows is kinda expensive. if i remember right i paid that and had all five of my windows done. i started off with no tint and got 5% on the back windows and 50% on the driver and passenger door. i later paid 20 to get the strip across my visor. my 50% is kinda dark because the rest of the truck is dark from the 5% but i wish i would have gone with 35% now.

I got my truck tinted this week. Paid $125 for 5% on the rear and 35% sides. I thought I over paid, damn $160 is a lot.

as far as I know % doesn't affect price (could be wrong) but my windows cost about $110 from one of the best shops in town. That was front two windows at 15% each to the edge but at that price they said I could pick whatever % I want. IMO $100-$140 seems like it's where the back 3 should be... but it is probably a PITA to do the back three also. I think you could probably save $20-30 but you might have to work for it... $160 doesn't seem too unreasonable... their warranty may make/break the deal too.

The place I went to would have done 35% all the way around with a cheaper type of tint for $75 and the warranty would only cover peeling and the back window would have to be done with two sheets. For $100 they'd do darker then 35%. Then the guy tried talking me into getting a tint that blocks out heat better, a single sheet for the back window, and a warranty that covers bubbling, peeling, discoloration, etc. for the life time of the tint. But he wanted $170 for that, and I haggled him down to $125.

Seriously now's the best time to made offers to people... you know they would love the business and if your offer is reasonable they'll take it!

yeah tint on the windshield isnt a good idea. it looks awesome. and works well to keep the car cool. but the potential unwanted attention from the popo aint worth it.

a buddy of mine who does all my tint for me has it on a few of his cars, and its cool. but kinda sucks at night..

I have 5% on sides and back. 35% on windshield. Anyone who says its a waste or unsafe has never been in a car with windshield tint! I had 50% on my F150 and it just wasnt dark enough. 35% is just perfect IMO. Once you try it you will never go back to just a sun strip.

FYI- I paid $75 for sides and back and another $80 for windshield

I paid $140 for 15% all the way around on my CREW CAB Lol. THat is 7 windows! Rear, L/R flag windows, L/R front windows, L/R rear windows... and $20 to have them strip the old tint off. And I got a written lifetime warranty.... AND they use Llumar brand tint (the good stuff).

Imo... for a Ranger, it should be 100$ or less.
