I was just curious to see if anyone else would be interested in creating a Ranger-Forums.com Truck of the Month like Generation-Edge had. Anyone think that would be fun? Is it cool with you Christian?

or truck of the week that way it would get around quicker and more people could get it. But if we do the truck of the month their truck would be on the log on screen for that month or that week. ???

 

we talked about it a while ago and decided that it wouldnt be worth it, but maybe now with the lack of GE it will work out better with more people

 

eh...its just ok.

 

TRS has it too, but it got all complicated at times and blah blah....and there were rules and such

but i guess it could be cool if we just picked random trucks to showcase, and not just the "extremely COOl " ones like some other sites

 

Well what kind of rules do y'all think were excessive? It always seemed to work pretty well to me on G-E (whenever the site was running, haha.).

 

well not really rules forsay, but just how it had to be modded and be really off road, like it had to be a leet machine.

but that was TRS, if i remember G-E had just trucks, like anyone could be in it, it didnt have to be crazy or nothn

 

Doesnt have to be a really "cool" new moded out beast.. if the people of the board would nominate and vote for a bone stock 94' it could be truck of the month.... it's not "Modded Truck of the Month" or "Coolest ToTM" or so on...

With that said, I dont care one way or the other...

 

i think it would be coool somethin to work for and stuff

like have truck of the week then after the 4 or 5 weeks in that month..get those winners and get truck of the month..then after 12 months get truck of the year or somethin..

be like TOTW, then have TOTM, then TOTY...somethin to have in your profile or somethin..

 

why would you vote a for a bone stock truck? mine is basically bone stock, i dont wanna be truck of the month if i havent done anything to deserve it. there are enough crazy awesome trucks on her to go a good year with truck of the month at least. Its a good idea to give them their much deserved credit with a page of pics and description nd what not. but wtf boohoo i have no money to mod my truck, if i wanna see stock truck of the month i'll go look at my drive way. I would like to see truck of the month for inspiration not to see what factory paint colors were through the years.... lol, no offense intended just my $.02 but what you are talking about is a member of the month and then its just a popularity contest. an in that case just send a PM to them and say "high five man , I like your style".

If the mods or whoever is in control put a -vote for me- button in everyones public profile, and every member gets one vote that resets every month, and tally them up at the end of the month and then leave that truck on display all next month it shouldnt be too hard or complicated for idiots like me to pick our favorite truck. but maybe it takes more than that.....

 

TRS now has 2 trucks of the month, a Off-Road Truck of the Month and a Street Truck of the Month. The off-road is self explanatory and the street is any stock or lowered truck. A lot better this way.

 

Well there could always be more to it than "I like your truck." I used to consider the member's activity on the forum in addition to the style/appeal of his or her mods. Of course that was just my own personal criteria. I know I've voted both for street and lowered trucks before. Anyways, I think it would be a cool idea to have a truck of the month on here, but try to keep it as simple as possible.

Have say, 5 or so trucks nominated by other members like on the 15th of the month. Then, on the 22nd, start the voting, with a profile of each member's truck along with a brief profile of the member and a picture or two. Have the voting run for 5-7 days where members just post their vote in a thread. Tally the votes at the end, announce it on the 30th-31st, and have their picture on the front page for the next month. If you win, you can't be nominated for x amount of time. If you are nominated but don't win, you can be nominated again the next month.

 

i say go for it...

its just somethin else that we can add to get more people on here.

ok, well how about just a showcase truck of the week or somthn, just of any randomly picked members truck. just for cool little page that would give info on the truck and you. just a small write up each month on the picked member.

Im with andy on the random pick. It would be cool to do that each week and it could be a seperate topic and would give sometime to talk about. And it would be something to look forward too, to see who wins the truck of the week.

Hey why not everyone just flood Christian's email box with pictures of their trucks every week and then he can pick the one to put up on the welcome sreen.
