SAS My 2wd

Im thinking about SASing my truck, I havnt been on here in awhile, and I was looking around through all of the treads and saw alot of SAS rangers, they look so good, Ive always wanted to lift my ranger but its 2wd.

The setup im thinking about going with is like Zabeards first setup, using a Dana 30, rubicon express arms or similar arms, lift coils, custom coil and shock hoops. I would also use a explorer 8.8 or ranger 8.8, and chevy leafs, spline count isnt i big deal to me cause im not going to go crazy offroading.

I also would get a 4x4 trans and a manual t case.

Is it possible with that setup to not run as much lift, shorter coils and run smaller tires, like 33s?

Im not going to sell my truck and get a 4x4 ranger, I dont want IFS

I take it you have a coil front 2wd Ranger? Good luck lots of cutting and welding!

I dont think it would be any more difficult to run an SAS on a 2wd vs a 4wd... you just wont be able to hook a front driveshaft up...

Your best bet would be to run an Early Bronco D44 w/ radius arms and coils. You will more than likely have to swap out your steering for a gear box as well.

As far as running 33's, I dont see why not!

But dosn't he have to cut out the coil buckets and box the frame to fit the shock hoops for the coilover's to work? IMO not saying it could be done, just would take a lot longer to do.

Who says he has to run coilovers? A good set of coils and shocks are a hell of alot cheaper.

Personally I think he has it easier depending on the placement of the coil buckets, and id they are going to work with whatever axel you choose.

Find a 4wd trans and tcase and your set

I would probably run lift coils and shocks. For steering I would go with a yota steering box setup.
