Royal Purple ATF is supposed to be within the requirements of Fords Mercon V

I usually run Royal Purple ATF in my trans....not the synchromesh royal purple because it wasn't out when I did my syn swap. I noticed the trans was easier to shift and with my hurst, the gear meshing noise got a little quieter. The good thing about running syn is it runs cooler....and a cool gear is a happy long lasting gear.

Now I'm running standard dino oil atf...idk the mercon level at all. lol.

with the lucas, it runs cooler and shifts alot better. Also the gear mesh with the hurst is much quieter now.

whoops.... I got stupid there for a second! lol. The meshing got quieter, not louder with synthetic. That with cooler temps and shifting easier are all traits of synthetic atf in manual trannys.

I said I use dino oil now.... 'cause i'm cheap and broke and my tranny went boom! A 4 gal jug if dino ATF is $10. I like that price. lol.

I'd probably run the Synchromesh next time around....when I got the $30 to blow on oil. lol.
