How much tranny fluid do I need?

How much tranny fluid do I need?
I'm getting ready to change the Mercon V and filter in my 2005 with the 3.0 engine. The manual says the tranny holds 10 quarts, but I'm sure that includes the torque converter. Anybody know how many quarts I should pickup at the auto parts store?

just changed mine and it took all but 5 qrts to fill it back up but mine is a 99ranger with 3.0
