two much tranny fluid

two much tranny fluid

my tranny has a very slow leak I put tranny fluid in but put to much in then my tranny started to slip. will that cause the tranny two slip ? or should I start lookin for a new one?

take it to your mechanic to have him drain some out.

I was reading the Chilton book and said do not over fill your tranny it will cause to shift hard and slip so im going to drain it today and put a new filter & fluid in thank you

Im surprised it makes it slip. I overfill mine by over a quart sometimes. Guys do that on their diesels too.

well it didn't start to slip till I over filled it. so ill drain it and go from there

Some will slip due to a foaming of the ATF caused by overfilling the Trans. I've been told its best to run a little low on ATF than overfilled due to that reason.

This is why manufactures hide the dipsticks or require a special tool now.
