Up for grabs is a custom bracket to adapt manual t-case linkage without having to source the ultra rare and expensive FX4 LII tailhousing, when upgrading to a manual t-case.

It is designed and built off a LII tailhousing, so you know you're getting a quality part.
I have tested it on an electric t-case driveline, and it is shift perfectly.

You need a manual t-case. This bracket just gives you the provisions to bolt the manual t-case linkage onto your stock tailhousing.

That's actually a 1354 manual shift front half, Grant... Not electric...But yes, it does shift very smoothly!

 

Yup. i meant it as it was on an original electric drivetrain, but converted to a manual t-case. But yeah, what he said.

 

so is this needed for the 5r55e or is this need for a manual trans. my truck is basically an 01 minus the motor.

OK now to find the linkage !

 

These brackets are ONLY for 2001+ 4.0L SOHC motors. Since they're the only ones that didn't have the threaded bungs on the tailhousing, these brackets give us guys that option. All the automatic tranny tailhousings had it and the older M5OD-R1 had the bungs as well.

 

Any ranger I believe 88/9-97 had the option, 02-03 ranger, 90+ bronco II and explorer up til 94 had the linkage. I just pulled it the other day for $10. You'll need a big crescent wrench for the front bolt and a 9/16" for the back bolt after putting the case in 4lo. Be sure to grab the plastic round notched washer.

You want the linkage to be the kind that is straight on the outside piece that attaches to the case. If it has a bend in it, where it mounts to the case, it's 1350m linkage, not 1354m linkage. Hope that helps.

Do I have the bung in place ?

 

I don't think you have the bungs. Since all the trucks had the same t-case bolted to the tailhousing, the bracket should bolt up. But i guess just crawel under your truck and see if you have two threaded bosses in the tailhousing

I'm pretty sure he does. The 3.0 OHV was an older motor and was offered the tailhousing with the bungs in it... I could be mistaken though.

 

Jason, crawl under your truck, I'm 99% sure you have the right tailhousing for the swap since your speed is measured at the rear end abs sensor, not the the tailhousing like the 2001+ guys.

I just crawled under my 2003, 3.0L, 5 sp and there is no extra holes in the tail housing near the T/C.

 

Hmm, looks like you need a bracket then sandy! Jason, i'm still positive you have the bosses on your tailhousing...

 

just looked i do infact on the driverside of the tail housing have the two bungs.
