1/8" thick plate steel 4" x 4" R/F (KY)

I know it may be a long shot, but I know a lot of you guys & gals do a bit of metal fabrication & you're bound to have a pile of scrap metal lying around...

I'm looking for 4 (FOUR) pieces of 1/8" thick (or a little thicker) plate steel that are 4" square.

I'm trying to make some brackets for a set of steps that weren't designed for my year Ranger. I have some 1 1/2" wide x 1/8" thick flat bar stock that I'm going to bend in a |_| shape but I don't think it's going to be strong enough on it's own, so I want to add a plate to one side of each bracket (4 brackets mounts) for more strength and a direct mounting point for the original bolts.

If you have a pile of scrap metal lying in the corner of your shop, take a look to see if you might have a few small pieces that I could use.

I'll be glad to pay a little money or do some led mods or something in return for the metal.

Thanks

I will look in the morning when I get to work. I actually might have enough in the back of my truck right now. But it might be a hare over 1/8 (maybe 5/32)

Ill let you know tomorrow.

Sounds good.

As long as it's about 1/8" thick, it should work. I'm going to sandwich the plate between the original bracket & step mount & there's just a hair over 1/8" between the two.
