1971 plymouth fury I

here is where i will be posting pics of the progress on my new hot rod. i purchased it a few days ago and im trying to work hard to get it working in tip top shaoe for the woodward dream cruise here is august.

i will give u a little bit of info on the car. it has a 318ci 2 bbl auto. the car called california home from 1971 tp 1990. and its been in MI since then. i havent found what the orginal color is called but its a dark bluish color. but because of sunfade the last owner painted the bad spots with a flat black rattle can (spray paint). oh and a little bit of cool info i found on this car is that it was manufactured sept of 1970. and my birthday is in sept. so i thought that was kinda cool

so today all i did to the fury was fix the side mirror because it was very loose, polished the mirror and door handles then spent like 5 hours trying to find rear quarter panels. thats 2 days over 10 hours of looking and i cant find any rear quarters for her.

My first car was a tan '68 Fury-I also with the 318ci 2 barrel carb and blackwall tires and a CB antenna. Back in those days the NC Highway Patrol ran with Fury-IIIs with a big hemi engine but when i came roaring up behind somebody on the interstate, they'd slam on the slow thinking I was a cop. It was pretty entertaining.

That 318 engine was fairly bulletproof although I did have ongoing problems with the heat riser valve rattling. But it was an easy car to keep running. There was a LOT of room under the hood.

there is so much room everywhere in this car. i love it. and my dad friend is a licensed mechanic and mopar enthusist and he said that this motor runs just like it came off the assembly line.

so yesturday i put on the new front brakes and wheel bearings. just 2 rotors and 4 bearing took like 5 or 6 hours to do. i was hitting road block after road block. and then today i pull up tp my drive way and see that my front driverside tire went flat. i dont know if it got slashed or the bead broke. the baed war broken before but i thought i had fixed that. hopefully this week im going to paint the car

I put her in storage 2 days ago and I got some flowmasters for free and and two 3inch tips off the mercury version of the crown Vic that came intomy buddies shop totaled and he gave me the tips and mufflers. Saving for my headers then I'm going to send it to a shop to get a professional exhaust system. Pic will be up when I get time. I'm a full time student in high school and I have been working close to 40 hours. So I really haven't had much time to work on the car
