2007 Black FX4 Build

I was writing all of this down on a word document so I figured I'd post it here for anyone who is interested to see. This is my current plans for my build which I plan to buy all the parts between now and christmas and then install everything over christmas break.

4” Superlift Front (K358)
- Replace any ball joints, seals, etc that need replacing
- Custom fab new tie rod end links
- stock torsion keys to replace the ready lift keys that are in now
4” skyjacker leaf springs
- Part number FR34S
- Leave 2.5” factory block and get new u-bolts the same size
- Remove shackles and sell
- Replace with OE shackles PN: 722-001 from autozone
Tires
- 33x12.5xr17 Mickey Thompson MTZ’s
Wheels
- keep my 17x9 mt classic II’s 4.5 backspacing

link for custom fabbed tie rod end links
https://www.ranger-forums.com/showth...uperlift+clunk

This is how I have it priced out right now..
Price
$1,600 – SL
$420 – Driveshaft
$365 – Leaf Springs
$1250 – 4 mtz’s
Shipping: $120 without tires, $90 with tires
(all above was directly from my cart at www.4wheelparts.com)

$90 4 wheel alignment (estimate)
$70 mount and balance all 4 tires and wheels (estimate)

$25 custom fabbed tie rod end link (link at bottom is what I will be doing)
$35 torsion keys used off forum (hopefully getting tomorrow)
$50 miscellaneous autozone parts (tools, grease, seals, u-joints, bolts, etc)

Ball Joints
$145 upper MOOG ball joints
$95 lower MOOG ball joints – combined $240

$60 for jacks and such unless we can rent them (only jack i have ATM is the stock ford one)

TOTAL: $4,305

^^damn that stings haha
still considering cheaper ball joints and a cheaper alternative to the rear lift because thats a lot of moneys to blow just to have a badass truck during college lol

I'll keep posting whenever things happen but not much will be happening until a lot closer to Christmas time.

good luck with the build, i suggest just replacing all ball joints and both tie rod ends if your going to be doing all that though. when i did my 4x4 swap i opted not to do the upper ball joints and it cost me two front tires in about a month or 2. get joints with grease fittings as well, saves some hassle down the road if you maintain them

Here's some more info for you from a thread I made after doing my driveshaft a while back... you can do it cheaper than buying the Superlift one. Just buy a front one from an XJ and do this!

And buy a pair of these:

I have a couple and they work awesome for stuff like this! They go a couple inches higher than most common floor jacks and then you don't need to buy jack stands too.

All you need is the shaft and those measurements. Find a driveline shop in your area and they'll do the rest!

You're 1 of a million who are the same. Doesn't feel good to be like me and have wasted prollly 5K on that **** and wished I just straight axle'd. Seriously getting rid of all the IFS bullshit would be SO worth it.
