ill be installing an 4" add a leaf in the upcoming days.

I just reread the whole thread, but maybe I missed something... Are you using the original motor that came with it or that cobra motor?

bigandrw 01-12-2013 07:44 PM

Cobra block, bored to a 306 with aluminum heads. the original motor I had was a 400m, boat anchor.

RLong31 01-12-2013 08:08 PM

Gotcha, can't wait to see it finished...gonna be sweet.

FULLSCALE 01-12-2013 08:09 PM

Not bad, lots to see and do. Everything is expensive, and I miss my truck, lol. On the upside.. I finally got around to learning to ride a motorcycle. Got me a little 400cc Suzuki Savage. Hoping to pick up a harley when I come back stateside.

well i have a few updates.

i didnt feel like spending $100 to get a body lift for this truck, so instead i spent about 20 and made my own. some 2 3/8 washers and some 2.5" rigid conduit. only took about an hour to make them.

https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1359505158

https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1359505158

and the new height with the body lift installed:

https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1359505158

i went down to a local steel yard and bought about 30 dollars worth of 3/8 flat plate and some square stock and went to town making some radius arm drop brackets and a tranny cross member

radius arm drop brackets:

https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1359505158

and the tranny cross member:

https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1359505158

oh and i also have the motor, tranny, and t-case installed

https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1359505158

https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1359505158

and just a side view of the truck with some fenders back on it.

https://www.ranger-forums.com/attach...ine=1359505158

also for those of you wanting to install a c6 with a np208 in a first gen you will have to notch/plate/ box in the frame the frame under the driver door so the t-case will clear

FULLSCALE 03-16-2013 02:40 PM

Being a carb maybe, I heard it plays hell with fuel injection to try and tune. Makes me wish I had the brass to carb swap my truck

Its easier than you think. this was a fuel injected cobra long block when I got it

kanuck15 03-16-2013 04:20 PM

I may read back into them then. I planned on running a rather mild cam

Do you still have any of the leftovers? Sensors, injectors, fuel rails, etc.?

FULLSCALE 03-16-2013 07:38 PM
