Carolinasled's $100 mazda

Ok guys, I thought that this truck would need a thread of its progess. No matter if it gets lifted or lowered.

The story is I bought this truck from the guy who bought my wifes 04 scion. Since I gave my blazer to my wife, I offered $100 for the mazda and now it has its own thread.

When I got the truck 3/18/08:

You got a 98+ B-Series for $100? That's a hell of a deal.

Thanks Trigger, So far its up in the air on what I want to do to it. I love the look of a lifted and clean ranger and I miss the bagged trucks from back in the day. So I'm not going to say what or when something will happen. I hope to continue some type of progress.

Thanks for asking.

Well today at work I was thinking a little about the truck. I have had a keyless entry for a while. So today I grabbed some actuators from work and tonight I installed a keyless entry and also threw in some "G" series pioneers since I had the doors taken apart. They sure make a difference, Since only 1 out of the 4 in there worked. Now I need to replace the rears.

Here is some pics from tonights install, Sorry I forgot to get the back together shot.

Can you get some pics of how you mounted the acutatuors inside the door? I could never get mine to cycle right. I have that same unit

Trent, I dont have exact a pic of it in the door, I do have some of the progress pics of the install. Here you go of what I do have. I hope you understand.

1st off I twisted the unlock rod top off that comes threw the door panel and took off the vynil jacket off the rod.

2nd off, Here is a pic of the unlock rod with jacket off. The rod can be seen and attached threw the door panel hook hole on the door itself.

3rd, I attached the door actuator on the outside of the door skin. I did this mainly to drill the hole for the flip. What I mean is I mounted the actuator just like this but on the inside of the panel to finish it off. I had to bend the actuator rod to make it work once inside the door itself. The screws actually pull the actuator close to the door screezing the door between each other.

If you dont fully understand I will remove the panel tommorrow or the weekend and get more pics of it.

So I read and search for answers. the speedometer and the trip odometer and odometer hasnt been working. like everyone sayes. clean the plug underthe seat under the truck. So i take it apart to clean. Shoot it with some wd40. Hit it with some air and put it back together. Gas gauge shoots to the full position. I tried removing the neg battery post for acouple minutes. Still nothing. The thing want read correctly now. When I switch the key on. It will barely move, But nothing. So any help guys?

Alittle Update

I bought a 98 explorer from a guy that had filed chapter 13 bankruptcy. I bought it just because he put the tires on a month ago with receipts. They are 30x9.50.15 on some swirls. I gave $700 for the explorer. I'm parting out the entire explorer before I take it to the scrap metal yard. If you need anything off of it, Shoot me a Pm. There is some stuff listed in classifieds.

Here is the explorer friday night after I backed it in the garage.

I quickly removed the wheels/tires and the bug deflector.

I would assume that it has a lein on it.

Use the rear to go into the B-Series.

You should get a center console and then swap the seats from the explorer into the mazda

Rangerjustin - the interior on the explorer is light grey.

5speed2.3 lifted 97 ranger is right - The guy had a lean on it when he sold it to me, No title just for parts.

lifted97ranger - the rear end will be sold before I scrap the truck.

korey89 - I sold the console to 04blackedge and the seats in the explorer doesnt line up to my seat holes and my seat brackets doesnt line up to the explorer seats.

sambob117 - Thats funny, It was late when I changed the wheels. Oh well what the hell.

04blackedge - It has a knocking 4.0 with auto tranny that will be yanked to sell also.

Thanks guys, I just wanted to get the explorer for a few replacements on my mazda and part it out to make my money back for the explorer.

Any parts or pieces any one needs let me know, Everything is optional on prices.

So last night I was under the parts explorer taking some pics of the rear axle for another guy on rps.com and I noticed the spare was dirty but brand spanking new. I thought to my self wow, So I removed it this evening, washed it and replaced the one in the mazda. I couldnt believe it was a 235/75-15 Goodyear Wrangler RT/S with all the nipples.

Not an ordinary "cool" interior mod, But something that will deff help in the long run.

Ok, another question. Do you guys think the front or rear bumper off the explorer will wrok on my b3000? Here is some shots.
Front explorer

Front b3000

rear explorer
