Cheap wood/mud truck build
 

So heres our 76 250 D-60 rear D-44 front, front suspension consists of 8 random leaf springs and 2" blocks we had and the rear has 15 leafs on one side and 14 on the other we are going to cut off the rear frame and flatbed it with 6" C channel we will be getting 35" boggers almost new for $500 the rear is welded and open front.
Motor is a tired 390 and c-6 with a divorced 205

And i dont want this to be another thread about how front blocks are bad i know they are thats why i have no blocks in my ranger its a beater and will never drive on the road cept for the occasional burnout.

hell ya, that thing is BA!

Im putting aside the safety issues with front blocks, your going to get some pretty good axle wrap on the front end, which can end up binding the steering. I would defidently rethink that not so bright choice. With some very minor fender trimming that era truck should fit those 35's with no problems stock.

Its just a hoopty so what ever it dosent have much power to axle wrap anyways ill get some pics with the "custom" lift done in the front.
Its my dads truck so he dosent want to do much to it ,if it were me i would have bought 8" springs for the front and chevys for the rear but he dosent want to spen money but its still fun.

We got a set of highboy leafs that arent worn out last night so we may take out the blocks make longer shackles and then drop down to front spring hangers to get some more lift.
We are making the rear frame this weekend also out of 6" C channel. Then we will have to make some sort of leaf pack for the rear also.
Almost forgot we are picking up a set of 35" boggers all four for 500 bucks they were only run a few times at a local bog they are a least 90% tread

Heres the truck as it sits.
Still need to do all new front brakes lines and rubber lines pull off back brakes and probably paint it to. also change around the front suspension try and get rid of the blocks.

Your rear shackle mount isnt in the right spot. Your shackle angle needs some help.

ya we knew that but its good enough for a mud truck though it drives pretty good

What is up with the bracing on the rear? Should they not be at a 90 degree angle?

It dosent have to be perfect it will never go down the road it dosent have to look nice it will get driven through a mud pit 2 weekends out of a month theres nothing wrong with how anything is on this truck if you dont like it then dont leave a comment simple as that.
You dont see me with blocks on my ranger on anything like that i know blocks arent the greatest thing butthey do work, 30 years ago most of the lifted trucks were lifted with blocks.
