Today we got all the walls set in the basement and floor joyces on and got 3/4's of the flooring on, further than I thought we would get...

The sad part is well have it all framed in sometime next week, (have other things to do Friday-Sunday), then it will be like 4 months of finish work probably lol.

Sweet.

That styrofoam insulation/foundation stuff is a trip. Seen it one time on a finished foundation underneath a really nice log-home, but never again. Nearly nobody uses that stuff up here. .. Way quicker than having to get molds in and out of there?

You doing the all the framing on-site, or trucking in pre-fab sections?

A little jealous of being able to start from scratch. I am in the middle of a couple projects to retrofit low-voltage electrical (home audio, networking) @ my little shack and it is such a pain in the *****. Just the thought of having direct access to the studs leaves me drooling a little.

I dont know about the lite form being much quicker it takes about a day to set up, but you dont have to frame out/insulate the basement walls then, the dry wall hangs right on the foam.

Where doing all the framing on-site, hopefully have most of the upstairs walls set today....

So you lay out the foam and pour crete in between the mold? The leave the foam there and back fill on the outside? Is it water proof, or do you still tar or what not the outside to prevent leaks??

How hard is it to get the foam to hold up the sheetrock, would of thought the nails would very well...

Yes you pour the concrete between the foam, the foam stays, theres a membrane that goes on the outside of it the seal it up. The foam has plastic ever 16 inches to screw the sheetrock too...

It always trips me out to see a house with a basement being built. Here in Cali its fairly rare to have one, most of the projects I've seen/worked on are concrete slabs for the ground floor. Looks like fun though.

The only issue is then you have to live in it and you know everything thats wrong with it lol. Like every time you look at a wall you know it crooked ect.

Yea I can't wait for my parents to get started on the addition so I can move home and stop paying $800 a month for rent.

Its was suppose to be bigger, but my servour screwed up and I didn't realize it until they already poured the basement, so I had to take 3 feet out of the width of the garage cause there has to be a 6 foot setback from the property line.
