House Build Thread
i was supposed to be doing construction this summer but it didnt pane out. i like seeing my work actually go somewhere
Ive worked construction off and on, for the past few years, but no its not my main source of income. My friends are contractors and well they call me when they get behind mainly lol.
The sad part is well have it all framed in sometime next week, (have other things to do Friday-Sunday), then it will be like 4 months of finish work probably lol.

That styrofoam insulation/foundation stuff is a trip. Seen it one time on a finished foundation underneath a really nice log-home, but never again. Nearly nobody uses that stuff up here. .. Way quicker than having to get molds in and out of there?
You doing the all the framing on-site, or trucking in pre-fab sections?
A little jealous of being able to start from scratch. I am in the middle of a couple projects to retrofit low-voltage electrical (home audio, networking) @ my little shack and it is such a pain in the *****. Just the thought of having direct access to the studs leaves me drooling a little.

Where doing all the framing on-site, hopefully have most of the upstairs walls set today....
I guess this thread got moved lol, I wish I had pics but well I lost my camera somewhere im my F150 not sure where though I have way to much crap in there. But we got all of the walls set interior, exterior and the garage walls. Hopefully get most of it sheeted tomorrow then head to the lake by the afternoon, then set rafters Monday....

It always trips me out to see a house with a basement being built. Here in Cali its fairly rare to have one, most of the projects I've seen/worked on are concrete slabs for the ground floor. Looks like fun though.
ha its the exact opposite out here. first time i was at one of my friends house i thought he was kidding when he said he didnt have a basement.
The only issue is then you have to live in it and you know everything thats wrong with it lol. Like every time you look at a wall you know it crooked ect.
Ya not bad, been running two framing nailers helps alot when you have 6 guys, its costing me alot of beer though thats forsure...Got the garage walls set this morning and start to sheet it, rafters to be delivered tonight. So Monday we should be ready to set them, cause where taking the weekend off...
Its was suppose to be bigger, but my servour screwed up and I didn't realize it until they already poured the basement, so I had to take 3 feet out of the width of the garage cause there has to be a 6 foot setback from the property line.
