Seems as if this is what I would need to convert the Waggy 6 lug to a Ford 5 lug...

-73 to 76 flat tops
-small bearing spindles
-86 fsj backing plate and caliper
-ford hub/rotor
-GM/jeep stub

That's all that I can figure. redranger4.0 sent me a link and that's what they said would take my 6 to a 5 lug. That would take too much time for the deadline that I'm trying to accomplish (by March 5th). Blows. Maybe I can find a rare set of 5x4.5 to 6x5.5 wheel adapters. :/

Is the wheel supposed to be lug or hub centric?? My idear... which I dunno if you'd want to do it... Just take the wheels to a machine shop, have them put the wheel on the millin machine and mill out the hub area so it is large enough.... Can't say that I would do it personally, but it might be an option.. i dunno...

 

I have some good news.

I found a guy who is going to make me 2 adapters to go from my Ranger bolt pattern in the rear to the 6x5.5 front. Whoo hoo!

Dude, the only things you need are small bearing spindles, Ford rotors/hubs, inner wheel bearings, and you're done!!!! That's it!

The knuckles you have already will work. The stub shafts, backing plates, and calipers for 1/2 ton Chevy and Jeep D44's are all the same so they work as well.

I'm telling you Brenton, you're wasting your money on having custom adapters made when you can do it right for much less.

You can get brand new Ford hub/rotors and inner wheel bearings from www.rockauto.com. for like $30 ea.

Zabeard has small bearing spindle for free so you can convert the front axle to 5x5.5 for under $100!!!!!

 

I would still have to get adapters for the rear to get the bolt pattern up to 5x5.5. Also, these adapters aren't but like $100 for them anyway.

then you can run my wheels if you go on 5.5 to see the truck on 20s and i can see on 17s..we are gunna be changing tires like crazy ahh

 

I was finally able to get the shifter somewhat in. I sanded the parts and painted them black with clear and it looks like a brand new set. I'm going to take the tunnel cover to school tomorrow to plasma cut that bad boy out.

Got a little more bored and decided to rip out the interior to clean under the carpet since I was almost there anyway. But I have a question... It looks like I won't be able to put my cup holder back in because the shifter is going to be in the way and if I can't do that then I'm just going to have a huge hole in the carpet where the cup holder was. Any ideas on that or if anyone knows anywhere that I can get another set of carpet? HELP?!?!?

I wouldn't run the adapters. Since the bolt patterns are so similar, one of the bolt-holes will overlap, so the adapter needs to be two seperate peices that bolt together.

Just order up some custom axle shafts for the rear with a 6 lug flange for ~250 shipped (superior chromo's, i'm sure you could get them cheaper)

 

Where would I get those at and where would I find a drum to fit the new pattern?

you get your drums plugged and redrilled.

 

They need to be re-drilled but not plugged.

Got my rotors redrilled from ~100

 

Got the gears and install kit last night, drove to Jacksonville last night to get them from Chris (thanks tons!). New wheels are on the way. Gears MIGHT be going in today as well.

You might be able to make a manual trans cupholder thing to work with the tcase shifter...maybe. I'd say get rid of your 60/40 and get a shorty console(has cupholders)....

I got the rear drive shaft in today finally. It's all rusted up, so I'm going to sand it down tomorrow at work and paint it. :)

I wasn't able to get the gears in today, but hopefully this weekend.

A member on here sold me the linkage and arm. Too bad ford wants $100+ for a damn shift ****.

Zach: it's going to be a close call for my truck. lol I found some crappy wheels and tire to get my truck on a trailer and to a d-shaft shop. I ordered a 3rd set of wheels today so let's see if the 3rd time is really a charm. The adapters should be here tomorrow as well. Gears will be completed tomorrow night.
