Did you add the tie downs on the bed or did they come that way?

I hate the look of them!!

The good thing is that I never noticed them on your truck so it doesn't take away from it. lol

Meh they are not my favorite but like I said they make up for it in usability. I have had to move all kinds of cargo, from EMTs to litters to Boats and rafts you name it, being able to secure any cargo is invaluable.

They're not too noticeable in person either. Themselves are gross....but as a whole, they're not too distracting to the eyes. More useful than eyesore. lol.

Truck is *****, Mike! You already know this! haha.

Got a couple updates and new pictures,

New diff skid

Got my front dash light

this is above the cut off of the HIDs

and bellow

the strobes are plenty bright.

Heres a video with everything lit up.

also my Fiancee got me an early birthday present, new deep UWS tool box! I actually have storage space again and my box is not stuffed to the gills.

look space!

did some chipping this weekend after taking down a few trees so got to put the truck to work, the new gears are great for backing a 2500lb trailer up a steep dirt access road.

I re learned how to back a trailer real quick with this, I drove down thinking I would have enough room to turn around, nope. so had to back the trailer up the hill then back it back down. I don't know how people wheel with expedition trailers...

some old pictures from a training mission a few months ago.

Love it man! I would love to have my truck outfitted like that! But I wanna have 4x4.

Just a question, are you EMT-B/ AEMT/MEDIC license? The reason I ask is I am a AEMT and hopefully soon Fire 1/2 certified in my state and have been thinking on joining up with our regional Land and water search and rescue team soon.

Thanks, 4x4 is handy for sure. I am just wilderness first aid trained I work with lots of EMTs and have taken a lot of the classes just never taken the time to do the full deal. I know enough to respond appropriately and within my training for almost all situations. the nice thing with SAR is everyone has shuch a diverse background that there is always an expert around. I am great with logistics, transport, and scene management in the woods.

Update!

finally finished my coil over set up this weekend

Hello ground clearance.

Name: IMG_0809.jpg
Views: 1320
Size: 57.8 KB

welding the braces and trimming the bump stops

preping the frame for the shock tower gusset welding.

No more bars

All done and back home

the 700lb coils are about perfect, the support the weight of the winch and still ride well and I get the ride height I wanted.

You heard it before and you will hear it again, the truck looks great, and as Shane stated it looks well thought out !
Good choice in Center Consoles and how do you like the seats ?

I don’t see an Amateur Radio Antenna on the truck, just asking but are you an Amateur Radio Operator, yes a HAM ?

HAM Radio would open up a new aspect of communications in the Search and Rescue Area.
You will be able to operate on frequencies and run more power than available to you with a CB AND most of the new talking while driving laws will not apply to you as a HAM.
IF and when you need to you can talk directly to the Police and Fire Rescue Teams or have other HAMs with the Teams.
Amateur Radio will open up new communication avenues for you guys.
Just talking and thinking out loud.

The Search and Rescue / Community Services part of Amateur Radio always appealed to me, I got my License because of it and helping the Red Cross with Communications during Emergencies. Think about getting your HAM Radio License if you don’t have it, great tool for your truck and a great addition to the team.
Oh ya one more thing, IF and WHEN and Emergency happens, the Cell Systems either go out or are turned off, Amateur Radio does not and is not… shut off, it helps to have a few HAMs in the group.

Luck with the truck, looks good.

p.s. how is that Ected Locker working out ?

Thanks man the seats have been great! I am still on the hunt for a set of sport trac seats in good shape that have the adjustable headrests and are heated. but its great to have power and lumbar.

I am a HAM (KF7FRD), as are 90% of our members its handy, I have a mobile Icom 5021 VHF in the truck now plus a handheld that are part 90 commercial so they run all our police/fire/SAR freqs and all the HAM freqs we use. we have a skylink repeater set up that covers most of our county.

as for the cell phone, most of the time we don't have coverage anyway, I do have a 3W cell amp in the truck that helps but when the grid overloads cells are no use anyway.

So far I am pretty darn happy with the locker, it works as advertised I have the traction I need for daily use and locks up well with the push of a button, the only issues I have had have been sealing the diff fitting. we will see how it holds up long term, but overall I am very happy with the ECTED. That and I love my TORSEN up front that thing has been perfect!
