This is it for me tonight..
I straightened out the bumper mounts. Heat and a BFH, 32lb type. It doesnt get any straighter nor square to the mounts then this. Im REALLY considering putting a piece of 2x2 boxed steel in there ' just in case '.
I'm NOT going to even TRY to ' fix ' this..
I have another one here that was drilled on for switches. A little fiberglass resin and letting it harden..
While it dries/hardens I'm working on that vailience. Its cracked, has gouges.. Its in VERY rough shape. Its black plastic, was yellow, then sonic blue, then rattle canned white with this god-aweful thick/icky white paint..

Before I forget.. Does anyone have a drivers side vent for the dash? As you can see from the pics.. the one that is presently in there is painted to ' where its at '. It doesnt move and theres no F-ing way I'm gonna take the hours of time to scrub it with acetone and risk melting it in the process.

They do shyt like this..
Last Summer/Fall Dave ( FMD ) and I put in her seats. We were on limited time. One thing All of us in Buffalo believe in is a blue-collar ethic. If your going to do a job, take your time, do it right.
We took out her bench seat and scrubbed her WHOLE cab's interrior. The WHOLE thing.
Well.. her friend that drove in with her ( Can't remember his name.. ) ' Boz ' had to get to work or something So I didn't have enough time to finish the job fully and did a ' make do ' .
Went to finish the job 2 weeks later.. the arsehole tried to use a stick welder on an alloy bracket and blew 2 or 3 nice holes through the seats rails.. I had to use a Tig, re-fit the rails and then drill them to mount the seats. It would have only taken me an hour to finish the job, but due to the added ' ricer ' into the equation, it took 4-5 and a lot of ' re-doing ' what was already done.
The alarm system.. it doesn't like the PATS system.. Some of the wires going to the GEM module are just cut and flopping around loose ( thus why I want to yank the whole damn dash! )..
The thing is though.. This is someone in the WNY crew.. we need to take care of each others rides regardless of how they were screwed up.
Brian has access to a full on machine shop that does military spec contracts. I have ( pretty much ) all the welding and fabrication tools and Dave.. If theres any sized wrench out there I guarentee he has 8-10 of them.
When Luke, Rudy and Joe were in Erie PA going to college, they had an open door to stop up anytime they wanted. When Gumby ( Chris ) was passing through picking up that Mountaineer, there was no way he was gonna shell out some bux for a hotel or sleep on the road somewhere.
Door/shop is open. Fridge has food. Buffalo has the BEST wings in the world and the ' Falls ' look cool.

i wouldnt use f/g on that plastic its not gonna hold for very long, especally with the dramatic temp change, i would make a plastic sluge out of acetone and pvc shavings, heres the write up i used,
1. heres all the tools youll need, make sure the pipe you use is ABS plastic not PVC
2. making abs shavings took several attempts the drill worked best...i have actually used my router cut the pipe long ways and run the router down the side a few times
3. put it in a bottle those cheap ones at walmart.. for ketchup or mustard.. then add acetone not much at all as it melts the abs you get a type of glue.. for welding abs to abs.... when you apply it the acetone melts both surfaces but when it evaporates it only leaves abs so you now have a solid piece of abs welded together get it?
you just squirt it where you want it like glue... no you can't use a brush it will just get messy.. and the consitancy depends on how much acetone you put in in.. I wouldn't suggest a very watery mixture then your sludge will just fall bewteeen the cracks.. I make it about the consistancy of.. I can't think.. a little thinner than honey.. that way it sticks where you want it to..
sorry to jack your thread just thought this would a better way to acheive the results your looking for instead of haveing to redo it an a few years , thats of the F/G last that long

Day 3..
It started with a F-ing downpour! It dried up.. then poured again.. Off and on.
Scott ( Tearloch ) came by and we did his rear diff fluids and fuel filter ( that was a joy! ).
The door lock is done and primed, needs to be painted. I started working on the dash and sorta ( sniff sniff.. WTF! ) I smelled something.. Her dog left her a going away present. He was never fixed.. I had Scott check it out.. It was.. I think its great to say its ' no longer with us '. Clorox, Era and a mixture of a bunch of other ' stuff ' and a couple hours worth of scrubbing and its in a MUCH better state!
I also finished the gauge bezel. Its primed and ready to be coated.
Scott was grinding on the bumper for a couple hours getting the rattle can paint off of it.
Misc Pics..
I scrubbed the WHOLE dash!

They come out. I took mine out when I coated my bezels. I need to find one.. this coming week. I plan on taking her truck on Saturday to have it inspected so.. I need to get all of it back together by then. I'm just worried about rain slowing things down. Cant really spray in humidity/muggy weather. I MIGHT have to stay up through the night and do it then ( when its cooler and less humid ).
