RangerNDog's Slow Slow Build

On July 29th, 2008 I bought my 2001 3.0 Stepside Ranger. It had 58,XXX miles on it and is fully loaded. My plans for this truck change everytime I do a mod. I will have something planned and do one mod and then that mod will change the next mod I want to do. Suspension is the only thing I know excatly what I would like to do. Eventually I would like to have it Superlifted with a coilover conversion on 33's. Body and interior wise I have no clue what I will do. We will just have to wait and see.

Here is the truck the way I bought it:

The first thing I did was swap out the 01 Tails for some 06 Tails:

Then it sat for a while until I found a killer deal on some AR Chambers and side steps:

After the wheels and stepbars I modded some headlights and painted my grille black. I only had the headlights on for less than a week before I took them off and went back to stock. I just didn't like the front end with them on.:

After the headlights and grille came a set of 06 corners:

Then after my trip to the Pittsburgh meet came an OHC, Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror and Lighted Dual Visors all out of an Explorer: I will get better pics of all this sometime.

Then finally came a bed swap. I went from a Stepside bed to a Fleetside bed. Along with the bed swap I went to a 3-bulb set up. Out of courisoity we decided to plug in the tail light harness to my truck and the light woked perfect. I have been pondering about switching to a 3-bulb set up for a lil while now and this was the perfect time. Anyways here is pictures of the bed swap:

Right now I am in the process of finding a new rear bumper and some tail's to replace the stock 93-97 tails that are on the truck now. There is also a few other tid bits that I will be doing shortly.

Very nice looking ranger. Welcome to the fleetside club if there is one. Can't you use the 06 tails you had on the steppie?

Exactly. I got a trick up my sleeve for some tail lights. Right now I am working on painting the chrome strip on top of the tailgate black. I will have pics up when I am done.

But I don't want 06's. Everyone has them and for some reason I am wanting an amber turn signal instead of red.

So is that a California thing that flareside/stepside Rangers are gay?

Just curious, as I've always thought they looked sportier dependin on the color and std or supercab.

LOL. Stone had to play with the lighting a lil bit to make my avatar come out like it did.

PM me a price. I am going to assume that etown, ky is Elizabethtown? If it is its a 7 1/2 hour drive. So for the right price I would pick it up from you.

No. It was just stainless steel. Its black now. Later that day I sanded it down and sprayed it with the always awesome Krylon Fusion Satin Black.

Bed, Tailgate and Fuel Filler Neck. Then depending on if the tails are 2-Bulb or 3-Bulb setup the tail light harness.
