Well the weather sucks, so it rained all day, which pissed me off. I pretty much finished up my half door, I didnt finish welding it up last time and today I got it just about done. Need to do one more small patch panel then make an access hatch so I can get to the latch assembly and stuff.

Well 2 hours And 2 years later I get to page 17, still to find an unfinished project. But keep working on it because it will be a BA trail rig.

Nothing new as far as pictures go. I finished up the floor in the cab today. When I had left it last it wasnt all finish welded. I prepped the frame for boxing in the are where my new crossmember is going to attach. I have to tack the piece in and make the mounting tabs for the crossmember so I can mock them up. Then the body is coming off completely.

It is on the driverside but on the passenger side it isnt because of the design on my crossmember.

No. With the box tubing only being 2x2 and 3/16th wall its not needed.

was thinking about doing something similar and came to the conclusion that stock exhaust runs right there on the right hand side. what are you going to do about the exhaust?

ZOOMIES!!!!!!

haha i was wondering the same thing.. a pipe will probably squeeze through. the cat doesn't have to be anywhere specific, if he even puts one back in so that frees up some room.

got one other issue.. where's the drive shaft gonna go..........................?

With the Low pinion axle and the LONG doubler It might clear. If not Ill mod that side a little bit with a small arch to clear. As far as exhaust goes Im not real worried about it right now. I can always notch the cab floor like I did for the transfer case to give it enough room to clear.

Looks great. Did you have to mess with the motor mounts at all?

Looks clean andrew. I like what you have gained as far as clearance. hopefully everything tucks in there nicely. are you worried about the heat from the exhaust?

Ill probably coat the exhaust in that section or use header wrap to keep the heat in the pipe and not around it. But who know I dont have a heater core anymore so the heat on the floor might be nice during the winter.

lol good point.

anyone know the rule of thumb for how far the exhaust needs to be away from the cab? seems like only a few inches away would be fine.

id say about an inch and a half at least. the heat that gets put off from that is outrageous sometimes.
