Stevens 01 Ranger Frame Swap And Paint
Well to condense many threads into one i began this year wishing to paint my truck..i got to the point of sanding it and started body work but shortly got ticked because the panels didn't line up worth a crap so i looked into getting my frame straightened and the first bid was 700 bucks because the entire frame rail was bent up 1 inch on the passenger side..also had random popping noises coming from the front end and wasn't ball joints and such so i looked into replacing the frame and which john (wvcat) hooked me up with a entire 98 rolling chassis as a trade for my 8.8 4.10 gear rear end and front differential complete.. so i drove 1600 miles to west Virginia from Georgia to pick it up..soon after i had he entire truck put together in like a week and has sat dormant for about 3 months due to lack of funds..well finally this week i got back on it and where it sits not is the bodywork is done and sanding is done and its ready for primer tomorrow(aug 2nd 2008)

Only Thing Left is hand sanding the bodyline and smaller areas the air sander couldn't get to and also patching 3 areas on the truck with bondo
Remove the Bed and sand cab wall and bed edges
Remove Train-horns
Patch Bodywork
Spray rattle can primer on the bare metal areas
block sand
hand sand tag box, bodyline, V in the hood, cowl panel, around windshield

all the close up shots are spots that need bondo repair..

no dirt got into the paint...we wet the floor so that nothing would get kicked up from walking...i examined the entire truck and couldnt find any trash in the paint..i was expecting a little but none got in it..jams were not painted because the colors were close..if i decide to paint it i will rattle can them
still undecided...i might just leave it where it is
