2003 Ford Ranger 4cyl: Speedometer bouncing; odometer and gas gauge not working
Hi Everyone,
Riddle me this???... My dad had bulbs out on his speedo on his 2003 Ford Ranger XL 4x2, 4 cyl. So, I replaced all with new bulbs and they work, however after a few days go by, now the speedometer is bouncing at idle, the gas gauge has stopped working as well the odometer is inop. So, if the bulbs burn out is this a pre-cursor to the circuit board on the speedo going bad or is there a secret that someone like to share? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Best, Sam

Maybe a connector didn't get seated well, I would pull cluster out and see
The Ranger(Ford really)odometer did have an issue with its plastic drive gear, it would get stripped, or its electric motor would quit
But if this all happened after the cluster was pulled and reinstalled then I would suspect wiring issue first

Thank you for your quick response. I made sure that all the clips snapped in. I am going to pull it back out over the weekend to look at the circuit board anyway. Stay Tuned....................
