2012 ford ranger px1 3.2 manual coolant flow issue
2012 ford ranger px1 3.2 manual coolant flow issue
Hi guys I have a 2012 ford ranger px1 3.2 manual.
im having issues of coolant flow.
My issue is feel as if the expansion tank is pressure rising too much and when I drive the car it’s blowing coolant out of pressure valve under neath expansion tank.
It pressure rises within 5minutes of dead cold.
I’ll also start car when coke wait 4 mins or less it will pressure rise I’ll turn car off open cap on expansion tank and that much air forces red coolant out of bottom of release valve under expansion tank.
If I leave the radiator cap on and hold the revs at 2000rpm. The coolant fills almost to the top in expansion tank.
the top little coolant flow hose pumps a decent stream of coolant flow all the time and if I rev the engine and hold the revs up it’s like a massive rush if flow coming out of the upper small pipe.
Wvery where I drive no matter what I smell coolant and jump out and check and look under expansion tank there’s coolant obviously coming out of valve.
I have replaced water pump checked thermostat
New expansion bottle and cap genuin.
Im stumped on what is wrong
I’ll park the car up next day to out open cap and there’s pressure in it!
has anyone else has this issue and can at least give me some things to check or how to fix please.
iv had it at machanics and they have done the rad test for exhaust gases and come back fine.
Please help.

Yeah mate either head gasket or warped head she had a slow combustion gas leak into coolant system, would only show up on sniff test under high rpms. Didn't even bother trying to fix engine putting a barra turbo and zf6 transmission in instead. Will eventually pull old P5AT down and possibly put new head on if required and sell it.
