2003 ford ranger edge (3.0) 5speed -
Hello everyone, I have seen some post about 2nd gear grind, but it’s usually an up shift issue. My grinding happens up and down shifting, basically any rpm matching it has to do over 1k rpm’s will grind, if I soft shift feeling out for the engagement, I sometimes get away without the grinding noise, basically shifting a couple hundred rpm sooner than needed from 1st-2nd, but that makes for a difficult shift if there’s any elevation.

I changed the transmission fluid and the shifting got better, but still grinds.

what are you guys thoughts ? Synchro ? Gear ? I have the engine off at this moment so I’d like to take time to fix the shifting issue too.
