A build section

could we get a new subforum that is for Project Builds?

Something so each member (if they wanted) could post up their project build without having to make new threads every week, they could just continue on their thread

explorer forums has something similar for their SAS board
http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/...splay.php?f=39

basically, i want something that i can post up my build, and link it in my sig, instead of multiple threads

Or i could just put it in suspenion, but its not limited to that, cause its a big project

and thats my point

a SAS thread is great in suspension

but id rather not have 4 different build threads (exterior suspension engine interior) instead just one big one

You should make it so only a moderator can make a thread.

Dubs can ask for a build thread. Etc.

Just so I cant make a thread to show you my sweetass taillight bulb replacement build.

also make it so others cannot post in the thread so you don't have to go through pages of "wow that looks great" or "you are doing it wrong idiot".

That sounds more like a "how to" thread. What would be cool is if there was a way that you could make it so you have a choice between "full thread including posters" and "only original posters post in thread". Basically it allows the original poster to get advice and have his ego massaged, and you can hide everyone else's posts so you can check it out more comfortably.

Why? Thats the only reason I post my projects, to get feedback. If I only did what I wanted and never got suggestions from others my truck wouldn't be what it is today...

I think its a good idea Scotty, I have my build thread in Photos since I'm posting photos...lol

Understandable, but It
s annoying reading through so many pages of " you ranger is stupid and I hate your face" vs " I't his truck let him do what he wants" comments.

It would be nice if that was an option for the thread starter, to have comments enabled or not.

if people only asked inteligent questions and questions about the build or gave advice, it could turn out good.

thats very true. unfortunately, a lot of people post garbage so that they can get an eleventy billion post count. I like the filter that red_ak_ranger suggested. that would be the best of both worlds.

The builder needs to post pad the beginning of their thread and then edit these post later as progress continues. 50 page build threads are useless when the tech is buried all over the place.

Or just don’t post until major work is accomplished. I also liked gearhead’s carputer threads. One thread for tech and another for comments.

skOt can you make it so that the original poster can delete posts? Therefore Moderators will not be needed. I'm sure some people will ***** about their posts getting deleted, but just put a sticky that says "It is OPs choice what happens in this forum section, for posts".

yeah, just PM a mod to help you out

if the original poster has the abilities to delete posts on their thread, whats to stop them from just deleting post from people they don't like, whether it followed the rules or not
