The Chat Box

I don’t get in here as much as usual because of the remodeling going on at the house in MA. and in the future the house in CA. I try to go back on the comments and I can get back but the screen changes back to the current comments before I get a chance to read all of them.

I’m I doing something wrong, is there a setting to whole the screen still for a while ?

I noticed I can't navigate the chat box on my phone. *Not the mobile site*

Have you tried going to the full window chat box?

It's just the nature of the refresh rate of the chatbox. I'll look into changing the rate to a longer time, although it's possible there could be negative effects from doing so.

Justin, do you have Android? I also noticed on my GS3 the chatbox won't work in the stock browser, it works with firefox. Unfortunately there isn't anything I can do about that though.

I can't scroll up on my phone without it immediately refreshing but I normally just browse threads on it anyway and use the chat box at home.

I changed the auto refresh time to 60 seconds, but I'm not sure how that will affect how long it takes new messages to show up. We'll see how it goes.

Just checked it out, it is not at a 60 second refresh, maybe 20 or 30 seconds.

I don't use it a lot so if I am the only one "forget about it" !

Since people comment like...once every 6 hours, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

Can't you click on one of the messages and see the whole history?

I did it a while ago and can't remember if it was here or not..

left side of the screen where it says chatbox theres a dropdown to see the full box but it still wouldn't help w/ the scrolling on a phone.

not a big deal though

I notice on a mobile device such as my iPhone 4, the chat is at the very bottom of the screen. Even on the traditional site.
On my laptop it's at the top.

Either way I've posted 3/4 times since you guys brought it back and don't really care if its there or not.

Maybe your timer is broken? lol. I just timed it with a stopwatch and it refreshed at 60 second intervals just as expected.

We have a feature enabled here on the site to reduce load times and it caches layout data within your browser so static content is not reloaded constantly. I'd bet if you cleared your browser cache on your iPhone that you'd see the chatbox move to the correct location, if it's a big deal to you.
