Yea.. That is bs.

I did it so I could have a bigger avatar. Even though when i contributed this site helped me alot. but still. There is no real benefits to contributing to the site other than that. So I think this place will lose alot of members soon if it keeps going this way or there will not be as many people contributing.

Except if you don't pay you get blasted with big *** ads. My contributor status expires the 29th and I'm not sure I'll pay again either. I dont really like the direction this site is going anymore, but I also don't want to look at ads everytime I log on.

Thats a good point too.

Someone should start up another Ranger site. Some competition is healthy.

I have to agree with this. Shane I consider you a buddy, but that statement is a bit on the harsh side. If that is how the mods/admins feel then I am going to reconsider supporting this site. I love this place and have been around since the beginning and even before this site was created. I remember when this was a very tight nit community. When we barely had 50 members on here. Now this place has grown to a great size and yes sometimes we need change, but at the same time as mods/admins have decisions on the site. So do the members that help keep this place around.

On another note. I believe the mods/admins do have the primary choice in things. Being that they volunteer their time to run the site. However I do think it would only be fair to give the contributing members some say so on how the site goes. Not to the extent of who's in charge, but if it wasn't for the money being contributed to the site then it wouldn't be where it is today.

What a bunch of cry babies.....

Isn't there anything else better to do in life then sit on the internet and complain because your Avatar size is just a wee little smaller?

you know why people say this site is not as good? because you all will not STOP complaining.

If we could all just have a normal convo, talk about rangers, BS around about stupid stuff and not complain this place would be a lot better.

IMHO if you don't like it leave!!!!! No one cares

I will contribute again, I have met a lot of friends on here and still do even though I do not own a ranger.

This is just like me going to mcdonalds and complaning because they changed the name from a $1 dbl cheeseburger to a mcdouble!
ITS THE SAME DAMN BURGER!!!!!!

Guys, there are a few reasons we are giving you the answer we do.

1, The old forum style was very hard for us to do updates, it was very cluttered
2, 144x168 is still larger than 99% of the ranger sites that I know of
3, Nothing has really changed as far as how the site is ran.
4, some people have chosen to leave because they disagree, but have nothing to base their points on besides avatar size and because they are mad about the new style? Doesnt seem like life and death to me.

5, some people are upset that the site has a new owner, hey you know what, I was too when it sold, but in reality it was not our choice, none of us held the key, none of us had the guts to start up a new place in 2004 except for Christian, that gives him every right to sell it how he wants to or even shut it down.

6, I asked Rick to come on and help me police some of the site because some members were taking things way out there, further than ever before, causing conflict, pissing people off, people leaving the site because of some members. Now, even some of you guys posting on here have PM'd me before about other members actions, asking for me to fix it, I finally fix some of the mess we were in and everyone is upset?? I find this very confusing. No one has yet given me a straight answer on it. You can do this via PM if you would like.

All I get is complaints about the avatar, sure it was awesome with the large one, trust me I loved it too, so did everyone, but in reality, this makes the most sense, as more and more people are using mobile phones and it makes the forum view better on the smaller and smaller screens out there.

I am not asking or forcing anyone to stay, that is your own choice, but I understand if you are somewhat frustrated, but to bash/destroy the site, which you have put so much time in whether you like it or not does not now does not make much sense.

Some members have acted very childish and have been banned, you know those members have been banned time and time again and yet to learn their lesson?

btw we will be asking members to resize your avatars soon or we will be forcefully changing them so that the style looks correct.

This is a good forum. I like the larger avatar though, but not the end of the world.

Was there an announcment about the site being sold or the new admin/site changes?

If there wasnt I think that would have been nice.

none contributor is 110x110, its always been that. mine is smaller than the 144x168, some have a pretty decent sized one and it looks good. we might manipulate them to be a bit taller rather than wider.

Just out of curiosity, how hard is it to have a mobile version of a site, like many web sites have? I can surf tons of sites on my phone, but it runs out of memory when I try to come here?

Oh, and I find it kind of amusing, that while one site I'm on changes to a bright white page (I prefer the darker look, easier on the eyes), another (FRF) creates a dark skin that I love.

no there was not, i personally think there should have been earlier, but Christian asked for it not to be public knowledge. I was a bit disappointed in his answer, though if he would have posted it, people would have understood much better the situation.

I agree. I mean I have spent hundreds of hours on here and some like you have spent thousands. I think it would have been nice and just to hear whats going on.

I agree. Also the McDouble is not the same as a double cheeseburger. The mcdouble only has 1 slice of cheese and the double cheeseburger has 2.

I read this thread and Im not a contributer. For the people who don't like there avatar size cant you just go back to the old style and it will go back to the 150x300 size? I guess everyone contributes for there own reasons. I did not contribute cause I advertise when I drive around with the Rf sticker. Thats how I look at it. lol

Nope. You can go to the old 'xtreme' layout, but the avatars are still the same allowances as they are in the '09 layout.
