New on here. Inherited 1994 base model 2.3l 2 wheel drive. 230,000 still smooth running no power 5 speed. Looking to get a little more power but understand that is a challenge. Have blocked egr, gutted air intake baffles, high flow air filter, amsoil everywhere, new filters everywhere, new timing belt, serpentine belt, idler pulley water pump radiator and hoses power packs wires spark plugs Power steering pump and box and a whole lot more. Got a ton in it already so I can’t quit now! Was my late brothers truck so I will never sell. She is still slow but fun. Any tips for tweaking out a little more power appreciated. Won’t maintain Highway speeds on even slight hills so I keep it off of the interstate. Still a fun little truck!

 

How difficult was changing the power steering gear box?

 

My mechanic did it. Seemed like quite the job. Wheels off, difficult to access.
