Need advice with o1 ranger edge won’t start with out starter fluid can here pump kick on once it runs ten min it runs great only that initial start any ideas what to do now

2001 Ranger 3.0l?

In any case it reads like you are losing fuel pressure when key is OFF, vehicle sits
2001 needs 60psi fuel pressure, above 25psi to start engine

Fuel pump has a safety feature so it won't continue to run if a fuel line should break in an accident/rollover
When you turn on the key the fuel pump will run for 2 seconds only, then will not run again until engine starts, 400+ RPMs, cranking speed is 200rpms
2 second run time = 10psi fuel pressure

So try this
Turn key on and off 3 times, that = 30psi fuel pressure
Then try to start engine

If engine starts then you are losing fuel pressure when engine/key is off

If you don't SMELL gasoline then its an internal leak, usually IN the gas tank
In 2001 the Fuel Pressure Regulator and fuel pump are both in the gas tank on the assembly

Fuel system should hold pressure above 40psi(1998 and up) for MONTHS and MONTHS when vehicle sits
