Is the server still having hickups? I'm getting an intermittent "Server not available" message when I try to click on a post/post reply.

The issues that are still encountered at this point are related to the missing data.

see now that shouldn't be happening. not even sure what would cause that.

is it the vbulletin software itself telling you the server is not available or your browser?
when is it happening most?
certain thread?
what browser are you using?

* as for the hd. we didn't see it going south otherwise we would have went for a quick fix right away instead of waiting till 2am to play system administrator :)

Figured his computer may have cache from threads that were lost. When I first got on this morning after the restore I still had old pages showing up. When I clicked on the threads I received the same message.

Site skin images weren't loading as well.

Everything seems to be running fine now.

Not abusing it...Just doing what needs to be done.

good job on getting the site back up quickly.

do you (us) have a private server, or just are you (we) part of a big farm?

I was on my iphone when it was doing it.
1) Same message as if the site is offline. Has happened before on other sites when the site is down.
2)It was doing it this morning on random links. Even in this thread. It has since stopped now though.
3)Its safari for iPhone.

It hasn't done it since this morning so I don't think it anything to worry about.

I am finding that any pics in the last month have some issues. Rangerboy's stang thread is a month old and the pics are not there but it says attachment. Unless he took them down but I am sure other threads have had this issue as well.

Ahh. Even Pedro's avatar is gone. The only way to get those back would be the poster has to repost pics?

How ironic is it that a backup caused the data loss. Is the data not mirrored? What type/brand of drive was it that failed? Tough times to be replacing a harddrive in, with the prices the way they are. That should be costly. Anyone wanna start a donation thread? I won't be in, I need a bigger drive my self, sorry.

The issue occurred due to a very unique set of circumstances. Without getting technical, measures have been put in place to help eliminate the possibility of a reoccurrence. However, as with all things computerized, nothing is guaranteed.

Yes, we appreciate all the support we can get. Forums are not cheap to maintain, especially when an issue arises.

The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.
