I've never had a problem with it being down..So maybe it's just you, or maybe the problem hasn't hit me yet?

Well it seems everything is down right now. This is the only section of the forum I can't reply in. I can't even PM anyone. I am getting the message below:

FORZDA, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Maybe your contributer year was up? That is only good for 365 days, not for life.

Ok, so I lied...

The site was down for me from when I got up (6:30am) to probably within the last half hour (8:30-9am). Trying to ping ranger-forums.com failed to even connect.

some of its DNS.

You can set your HOST file on XP or Vista, you need to put this entry in.

69.93.171.242 ranger-forums.com

This is how you do it.

Start > Run
(Put this into the run command) C:\windows\notepad.exe C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS

Under 127.0.0.1 localhost put 69.93.171.242 ranger-forums.com

after doing that hit save, close everything then open the internet and try it again.

this will fix the issues of no server or unable to find ranger-forums

if it still does not work for you delete the line i told you to put in and save it.

What does this do? I am not as computer literate as you are. Also, what is DNS?

DNS > Domain Name Service.

Basically your computer cannot find RF by its domain name (ranger-forums.com) so in that HOST file you can over write whatever your computer thinks ranger-forums.com is by saying ranger-forums.com is this ip (69.93.171.242)
